1960’s Ranch Reform

1960's Ranch Reform

This house was a typical 1960’s Ranch style home.

We took the small 1470ft three bedroom, one bathroom home and completely gutted it down to the studs.

Adding a second floor and closing an existing front patio allowed us to extend the footprint of the home to a full 3200ft.

Downstairs we turned the eight foot ceilings into ten foot ceilings  and upstairs we built 15ft and 20ft ceilings with skylights and plenty of tall windows for full natural light and modern living.

The result is a four bedroom home with three full bathrooms and two half baths.

There is a master suite both upstairs and downstairs with gorgeous walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms.

A gas fireplace downstairs and another one upstairs adds a nice ‘Wow’ factor and ensures for cozy fireside reading in the winter or on cool evenings.

The kitchen is the focal point of the downstairs space. A double size island and all Carrera marble countertops make for a beautiful and elegant finish while providing a great space for the family to congregate at.

The new version of the home is fully green; tankless water heater, nest thermostats, energy efficient windows, doors and appliances.

We put in a large deck in the back of the house as an addition to the master bedroom and another one behind the kitchen…both provide great outdoor living spaces!

Below are some of the BEFORE photos…and then we’ll get to the good stuff and see the AFTER photos!

Below is some of the work in progress.

Adding two feet of ceiling height to downstairs as well as completely changing the interior design concept.

Downstairs went from three bedrooms and a tiny kitchen and bathroom to an open layout with a large master suite with walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom and a large open kitchen and living area with a powder room.

All new electrical and plumbing as well as flooring, windows, doors and insulation make for essentially a new home.

AND NOW THE GRAND FINALE!

The renovated home feels really good.

It has a great flow and all the modern living needs.

Lots of natural light and beautiful detail make it look like a completely different home!
